What we are LIVING on right now...

What we are LIVING on right now...

With some quarantine “downtime” we thought it would be fun to bring a little inside scoop on the founders of RingHero (Jessica, Jessie, and Niki) and what they are LIVING on these weeks of shelter in place.  The three #momtreprenuers are trying to juggle life and with the current conditions it’s crazier than ever. With a little humor and a lot of patience we will get through this together.

Wishing you all health and safety!

Jessica’s Quarantine Q+A:

quarantine activities and protect your ringwalks during quarantine

What are you binge watching?
24”. I was told to go back to it from a friend who knows I like Homeland. It's the original homeland. HIGHLY recommend and it takes me way back.

Favorite quarantine snack?
Whisps - Parmesan cheese crisps. I.can't.stop.

Workouts you are loving:
Melissa Wood Health  I love how quick, yet effective these workouts are. And I love to pair them with my Bala weights

What’s your favorite new RingHero color?
Definitely Camo! I'm super excited that we've branched into patterns and look forward to introducing more in the future.

What brings you joy right now?
Having family dinner almost every night as that's never happened since I've had kids (we do family dinners, it's just usually restricted to weekends with travel schedules!) and lots of wine....

What's the hardest thing about quarantine life?
I am used to travelling once a week for work. Not being able to get out of the house for a general break from the routine is extremely hard! And not to mention finding a way to work with my husband and two kids all under the same roof!

What are you grateful for during this time?
Same as what's bringing me joy. More family time. Justin and I are even getting out on daily walks together which has been amazng from a quality time perspective (in between conference calls) but also in ensuring to get fresh air every day, even if it's snowing in April!

Jessie's Quarantine Q&A:

protect ring while hiking

What are you binge watching?
I’ve never been great about a tv series or sticking with a show, but this quarantine time has changed me! Currently obsessed with and seeing it through to the end; “Tiger King” (I was tired of being the only one who didn’t understand all the memes, “The Stranger” and “Ozark”.

Favorite quarantine snack?
My kids would snack all day (they get that from me) so we try and set specific snack time just like they would have at school. We’ve been doing lots of trail and snack mixes with fresh fruit.  Some homemade and some store bought. My favorite is Paleo Savory Snack Mix from Thrive Market.

Workouts you are loving:
I love variety and get super bored with the same old workout day after day.  I find my variety on IG from fitness trainers and fitness influencers and save their workouts. Then it gives me great options each day. My favorites right now are Cara LorenAlexia Clark, and PaleoOMG (she even has a full stair workout, talk about changing up your basic home workout!)

What’s your favorite new RingHero color?
Picking one is so hard but if I must Lux Leopard! I wear a lot of black so love a pop of animal print to give your outfit the right amount of interest.

What brings you joy right now?
I’ve been doing Zoom happy hours with friends and it’s amazing how much joy that brings.  I can’t believe it took a pandemic to get this going with my friends.  We all live across the US and can’t see each other often and text is not good enough right now. Seeing each other in the flesh and hearing each other’s voices goes a long way.  Highly recommend setting up a bi-weekly call with some pals!

What's the hardest thing about quarantine life?
It’s hard not knowing when we will see our extended family next. We live in California and our families are in the midwest. All our travel plans have been cancelled and we won’t plan anything until things calm down. And with our youngest turning 1 in a couple weeks we are planning a virtual Zoom birthday party. At least this way our families can be present from afar and watch her smash her cake.

What are you grateful for during this time?
I’m grateful for the quality family time. Other than a week’s vacation we’ve never had family dinner all together every night of the week. With both parents home every night we can do dinner at 5:30pm and the kids are all asleep by 8pm, once the house is clean that gives us quality adult time (hence the new ability to really commit to a show lol).

Niki's Quarantine Q&A:

What are you binge watching?
Tiger King (but I can’t binge this all at once; I get grossed out too quickly with how bizarre the whole thing is), The Last Dance (remind me of my dad as we grew up watching Michael Jordan together)

Favorite quarantine snack?
Yogurt, Granola and fresh berries; or popcorn and peanut M&M’s, an old fave! I’m trying to be healthy as I just finished nursing so I don’t have that normal calorie burn like before.

Workouts you are loving:
Anything Peloton related - 30 min Pop rides with my boy @codyrigsby; lots of strength and ab circuits plus fresh air and walks with the fam. Excited to try the Dance Cardio they just launched!

What’s your favorite new RingHero color?
Can I say all of them? ;) Managing the supply chain is part of my role at RingHero and I am so excited that all of the colors launched and the new ones we are working on for Fall. Reply back if you have any suggestions!

What brings you joy right now?
The innocence of my kids; they have no idea what’s going on and are so excited to collect leaves and sticks in our walks or bake with me or sit in on my calls while coloring. Trying to cherish this time.

What's the hardest thing about quarantine life?
Not knowing when this is going to end; I work in the retail industry and companies are being decimated; it’s really really sad for the employees too and the leaders that have tried to build something. And the ripple effect. This was a medical emergency that turned into an economic crisis and honestly I’m just sad and scared. I’m praying that when stores can reopen folks get their jobs back and our economy bounces back quicker than the 4 years post 2008. Wishful thinking!

What are you grateful for during this time?
For my family, my health, being employed, my RingHero squad and supporters, having a nice home to be stuck inside and so much more. On a lighter note I’m really grateful for thefatjewish. He’s honestly freaking hilarious and when I need to be pulled out of a funk I scroll his feed.
